Garrett Nussmeier is LSU’s starting quarterback and is considered one of the nation’s top QBs heading into the 2025 season as a leading Heisman Trophy candidate and top NFL Draft pick. As the returning leading passer in college football heading into this season, he is the first player in LSU history to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season as a first-year starter in 2024. Nussmeier started all 13 games that year, leading the Tigers to a 9–4 record and earning MVP honors in both the Texas Bowl and ReliaQuest Bowl. With more than 5,700 career passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and a track record of clutch comebacks, Nussmeier has carved out his place in LSU’s record books. His precision, poise, and playmaking ability make him a natural fit for the LEGION standard.
